Proper maintenance not only extends equipment life but also prevents solder defects caused by solder paste deterioration.
Cleaning and maintenance are fundamental tasks. After daily use, wipe the cabinet surface with a dust-free cloth to remove fingerprints and dust. Weekly, open the cabinet door to clean any remaining solder paste debris and volatiles, paying particular attention to buildup around the scraper track and seals. Deeply clean the cooling system and vents monthly with a dedicated cleaner to prevent dust from clogging and affecting temperature and humidity control accuracy.
Temperature and humidity management is crucial. Solder paste is typically stored at 2-10°C. Regular calibration of the cabinet sensor (recommended quarterly) is required to ensure that the displayed value is consistent with actual conditions. If condensation is observed, inspect the seals for aging and damage and replace them promptly. Close the cabinet door immediately after using solder paste to avoid temperature fluctuations caused by frequent opening and closing.
Solder paste storage procedures directly impact maintenance effectiveness. Different types of solder paste should be stored separately and date-labeled, following a first-in, first-out (FIFO) principle. Unused solder paste should be stirred regularly (manually rotating the storage canister 2-3 times a week is recommended) to prevent sedimentation. Opened solder paste should not be stored in the cabinet for more than three days; any excess should be discarded.
Equipment function checks are also essential. Before daily startup, verify that the refrigeration system is operating properly and that condensate drains are unobstructed. Compressor performance and circuit safety should be inspected by a professional every six months. Furthermore, it is recommended to maintain a maintenance log to record maintenance details and facilitate tracing of any anomalies.
Through these systematic maintenance measures, the stable operation of the solder paste management cabinet can be effectively ensured, providing reliable support for high-quality SMT production.
